Tungsten carbide rods are widely used in the manufacture of cutting tools, including end mills, drills, burrs and other precision machining tools. It is also used in the aerospace industry for cutting and machining tasks that require high precision and durability. They are categorized according to their characteristics and applications as follows:

1. according to standard sizes:

Tungsten carbide rods are available in various standard diameters ranging from 1.0 mm to 25.4 mm and in lengths up to 330 mm or can be cut to specific lengths as required.

Customized tungsten carbide rods with specific dimensions are also produced, including rods with a center hole or multiple straight holes to meet specific industrial needs.

2. Depending on the surface treatment:

Rough: tungsten carbide rods without a specific surface finish that can be further processed.

Ground: tungsten carbide rods that have been ground to achieve a certain degree of smoothness and precision.

Mirror polished: tungsten carbide rods with a highly reflective and smooth surface, usually used for precision applications.

3. Depending on the function:

Integral tungsten carbide rods: solid rods without any internal structure, suitable for a wide range of machining tasks.

Composite rods: rods consisting of tungsten carbide particles embedded in a metal matrix with a variety of properties.

Rods with coolant holes: Designed with holes that allow coolant to flow through during machining, thus improving cutting efficiency and tool life.

4. Depending on the pressing method:

Molded carbide rods: Molding is the pressing of carbide rods with a die. The diameter is larger, generally up to 330 mm.

Extrusion molding of tungsten carbide rods: hydraulic or other methods of pressurized way to extrude the powdered material mass from the extrusion nozzle, in the length of the product is not limited, the longitudinal density is more uniform.
