Properties and characteristics of tungsten carbide
High hardness (86~93HRA, equivalent to 69~81HRC);
Good thermal hardness (up to 900~1000℃, keeping 60HRC);
Good wear resistance.
Cemented carbide tools have 4 to 7 times higher cutting speed and 5 to 80 times higher tool life than HSS. Manufacturing moulds, gauges, life than alloy tool steel 20 to 150 times higher
Can cut about 50HRC hard materials.
However, cemented carbide brittle, can not be cut, it is difficult to make a complex shape of the whole tool, and therefore often made of different shapes of the blade, using welding, bonding, mechanical clamping methods such as mounted on the knife body or mould specific use
