The addition of Si and Mn to the welding materials of wear plates increases the strength and wear resistance of the steel, and the combination of C and Mn causes cold hardening of the steel and improves wear resistance. Alloy elements such as Cr and Mo can reduce the critical cooling speed, promote the formation of martensite in the steel, and improve the weldability of the steel.

What are the characteristics of wear plates?

The wear plate has high wear resistance and good impact resistance. It can be cut, bent, welded, etc. and be connected to other structures by welding, hole welding, bolt connection, which saves time in repairing the construction site. It is widely used in metallurgy, coal, cement, electricity, glass, mining, building materials, brick and other industries. Compared to other materials, it has a high price-performance ratio and is preferred by more and more industries and manufacturers.

What are the outstanding properties of wear plates?

1. Flame cutting characteristics: Like ordinary steel plates, wear plates can be machined by flame cutting, and have good flame cutting characteristics. To avoid cracks in the steel plate during flame cutting, gas pressure and oxygen should be selected high and the cutting speed should be low. In special cases, it is recommended to preheat cutting, and the preheat temperature during cutting is 60℃ -90℃.

2. Cold forming characteristics: Although the wear plate has high strength and hardness, its cold bending performance is good and the steel plate can be cold formed. In order to avoid cracking at the wear plate edge during cold forming, the burning or cutting edge must be ground in the bending area.

3. Hot forming characteristics: The wear plate has good hot forming characteristics. After hot forming, the wear plate must be started at low temperature, and the tempering temperature is 250 ℃ -350 ℃.

What mechanical properties do wear plates have?

1. Processing characteristics of wear plate: The steel plate has good cutting and shearing characteristics. When machining steel plates, feed amount and feed rate should be selected sensibly according to the hardness of the steel plate and the cutting tools used. Typically, the tool material is high-speed steel or carbide. Carbide surface tools are required for cutting and grinding.

2. Welding method of wear plate: The wear plate can be welded by ordinary arc welding and inert gas welding, and a satisfactory welding joint can be obtained. When welding the wear protection plate, it is recommended to preheat the wear protection plate. See welding specification for temperature.
