There are many types of DTH Drill Bits, but the shape of cemented carbide from crushed rock can be divided into two types, one is a blade edge drill, and the other is a column tooth drill. The former is used in general soft formations, while the latter is used in hard formations.

What are the materials of DTH Drill Bit?

Because DTH Drill Bit not only bears frequent impact loads, but also overcomes the rotational resistance moment when breaking rock at the bottom of the hole; sometimes large-diameter drill bits have to be used repeatedly; therefore, DTH Drill Bit requires the use of high-quality, high-strength, Wear-resistant alloy steel is used to process the drill body; the hardness of the material is moderate, generally HRC40-50; the clamping force for the carbide teeth is strong; since the upper and lower ends of the drill need heat treatment, the material must have good hardenability.

Chromium-nickel alloy steel can meet the above requirements, so in the past, DTH Drill Bit used 40CrNi steel to process the drill bit body, but due to the lack of chromium raw materials, chromium-nickel steel is relatively expensive. It is recommended to use Si-Mo-Mn steel, and 35SiMn steel can be used, which can fully meet the requirements of processing DTH Drill Bit, and the price is low.

What are the main types of DTH Drill Bits?

There are many specifications of DTH Drill Bits, which are mainly divided into high air pressure DTH Drill Bits, low air pressure DTH Drill Bits and internal thread DTH Drill Bits. DTH Drill Bits are mainly made of high-quality steel through forging, machining, heat treatment and cold pressing. It is processed by wear-resistant cemented carbide and other processes. DTH Drill Bits can be used for mineral mining, blasting, earthwork engineering, basic construction engineering, water well drilling engineering, etc.

How does a DTH hammer drill work?

There is a piston in the cylinder. When the compressed air enters the upper chamber of the cylinder from the air inlet, the pressure of the compressed air acts on the upper end of the piston and pushes the piston to move downward. When it reaches the end point, it impacts the tail of the drill bit, and when the piston goes down During the movement, the gas in the lower chamber space of the cylinder is discharged from the exhaust port. Conversely, when compressed air enters the lower chamber from the exhaust port, the piston moves upward, and the air above is discharged from the intake port. If the direction of intake and exhaust is continuously changed, the reciprocating motion of the piston in the cylinder can be realized, so as to repeatedly impact the tail of the DTH Drill Bit and realize the continuous operation of the DTH Drill Bit.
